Rhubarb Cake

Rhubarb Cake

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2 tap vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups cut up rhubarb
1 cup sour milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda

Beat egg.  Add brown sugar, shortening,vanilla and sour milk.  Mix dry ingredients together then blend into the egg mixture.  Pour into 9 x 13 greased and floured pan and top with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Chow Mein Hotdish

Chow Mein Hotdish

1 pound hamburger
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup rice
1 TBSP worcestershire  sauce
2 TBSP soy sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 cans water
2 cups chopped celery

Brown the hamburger and onion.  Add all the rest of the ingredients.  Bake 2 hours.  Bake some chow mein noodles separately to put on top when serving.

Sauerkraut Hotdish

Sauerkraut Hotdish

1 pound hamburger
1 medium onion
1/4 tsp pepper
1 - 14oz can sauerkraut (rinsed and drained)
8 oz pkg egg noodles (any kind)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can water
2 cups grated Swiss cheese

Cook noodles.  Brown hamburger and onion.  Mix all together and put in a 3 quart casserole dish.  Bake in oven or put in microwave for 10-20 minutes.

Sour Cream Cookies

Sour Cream Cookies 1/2 cup shortening 1 1/2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs 1 cup sour cream 1/2 tsp soda 2 3/4 cups flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp vanilla Beat the eggs. Add the shortening, vanilla brown sugar and sour cream. Beat well. Mix dry ingredients together and add to the egg mixture. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls and bake at 350 degrees until golden in color. Cool and frost. Frosting 1 stick butter melted until golden brown. 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 2-4 TBSP hot water until it is spreadable
